There are many way to power a small to large robot device. Here we will talk about some of the small batteries used in your average robot toy and then to the larger lithium type batteries used in more experimental and commercial robots.
Your average battery powered lawn mower may use a 20 or 40 or 60 volt lithium ion battery.
In robotics we tend to talk about the newer LiPo batteries so here we will explain some of the differences.
Batteries can be tricky. In the old days there were cases of batteries catching fire in some cell phones and even some skateboard type devices.
For this reason people are cautious. Some products that you may order from Amazon will have large warning labels on the box indicating that there are batteries inside. Some airplane companies have specific rules about carrying batteries.
