Many would say that the female robot was ignored over the years.
This is not true necessarily.
It is true that to the present, most of the robot designers and scientists have been men and may not have asked for much input from the women when designing them.
This has changed greatly in the last 10 years and now with the emphasis in the schools on the STEM program, there will surely be many more women making contributions to the up and coming robots.
Female robots are called Gynoid robots or fembots.
